What really makes me mad is the double standards of the Western media that tell the tragic story of two dead Russians (who were on the occupied territory of the other country during the war), show their photos, say their names. BUT then report the everyday losses of Ukraine by simply stating the number of casualties. At best it is mentioned that it was a man or a woman who died. Those Ukrainians that die every day and night when the cities are shelled and bombed by Russians, those that die of tortures in Russian captivity - newsflash - they were people. Civilians with their own plans and hopes.
Western media sources turn us into numbers, dehumanize us, give the audience an idea that our deaths are not something to worry about too much. But that poor couple that was crossing a bridge - a strategic object - on the territory of Ukraine that was lawlessly annexed by their fellow citizens - their death should be depicted as a personal tragedy everywhere, that’s for sure.
By the way, maybe Western media would also like to show a few photos of that Russian couple on the Victory Day marches, with St George’s Ribbons? Because these would be a perfect exposure of “not all russians” bullshit.
*in case this needs clarification, the St George’s ribbons have been commonly used as a putinist symbol in this war. And, for the fans of finding nazi symbolism in every smallest dust particle in Ukraine - they have been used by the nazi collaborator white russian army
Something to add to my initial thought

and i know i make the same mistakes every time bridges burn i never learn at least i did one thing right
Today, July 17th, marks the 9th anniversary of the downing of MH17 by the russians. 298 people were killed. Among them were 80 children. Igor Girkin, Sergei Dubinsky, and Leonid Kharchenko have been found guilty and are sentenced to life imprisonment. The Dutch court has ordered an arrest of the convicted.
While russia continues to deny its involvement, the Dutch court has found sufficient evidence to say that the “DPR” received direct orders from the russian federation in 2014.

Just wanted to share this article, things are even more awful than we ever thought about ukrainian civillian prisoners
With russia, you should always prepare for the worst, and even then you’ll be shocked
I especially “love” the order to build more camps till 2026. The audacity to think they’ll still control Ukraine by that time. They’d better start making plans around how much ~russian territory~ will be under their control by then.
